The Triana neighborhood celebrates its patron party. They are multitudinous and have managed to maintain a large part of their original roots. During the festivities there are sports competitions, potters’ market, the traditional Cucaña, conferences and night performances in the Altozano square and in calle Betis.
During the week of the Feria de Abril in Seville, the city moves to the Real de la Feria. Thousands of colourful booths are set up there where the Sevillians spend the whole day gathered among friends to dance and sing accompanied by the typical gastronomy.
During the Easter, many religious brotherhoods go out in procession. These brotherhoods have their headquarters in that countless churches scattered throughout the city. Each of these processions are made up of hundreds of Nazarenes who in penitential procession open the way to images of Christ and Virgins who are carried on their shoulders by the so-called ‘costaleros’.
